Ásványráró is a village in Kisalföld, in the heart of Szigetköz, on the bank of the Danube, halfway between Győr and Mosonmagyaróvár. It was formed when two villages, Ásvány and Ráró were united in 1936. Archaeological findings prove that it has been inhabited for at least 5000 years.
Szigetköz is the biggest mainland delta of Europe. Arriving in the Carpathian Basin the Danube split into several smaller and larger branches and created a huge water world consisting of 300 islands. The rich flora and fauna of the area, as well as nearly 800 km of different branches of the Danube await nature and water sports lovers.
